Supply Nation’s vision is of a prosperous, vibrant and sustainable Indigenous business sector. We believe that the purchasing power of businesses can be used to deliver positive social outcomes. We work with our paid membership of government, corporate and not-for-profit organisations to develop procurement policies that modify and redirect spend to include the traditionally under-utilised Indigenous business sector.
Over 450 corporate organisations, government departments and not-for-profits are committed to working with Supply Nation to embed Indigenous businesses within their supply chains and use their procurement spend as a lever to achieve social good.
Supply Nation utilises a rigorous 5-step verification (registration, certification and audit) process to ensure that every business listed on Indigenous Business Direct is at least 50% Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander owned. There are currently more than 1950 businesses on the directory across every state and territory in Australia and in every industry from consulting to construction and cryogenics to climbing gear.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses are up to 100 times more likely to employ other Indigenous people. They provide culturally safe environments, leadership in community and role models for young people. Engaging Indigenous businesses makes sense for Australia.
